Evergreen

WILLIAMS, Mrs. Alberta Meriwether, 74, died in Ft. Deposit Saturday. Funeral at 10 a.m. Sunday at Cope Funeral Home with burial in Magnolia Cemetery and with the Rev. J. H. Bullington officiating.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Byrd L. Moore, Fairhope, Mrs. Robert Lee Stallworth, Evergreen, and Miss Beryl Williams, Ft. Deposit; two brothers, Albert and Jim Meriwether of Mobile and Gordon Meriwether of Montgomery; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Greene and Mrs. Bessie Poindexter, Montgomery.

Former Resident Passes At Ft. Deposit Home

Mrs. Alberta Meriwether Williams, age 74, died unexpectedly at her home in Ft. Deposit Saturday, March 9, following an illness of several months. Mrs. Williams suffered a light stroke several months ago and had been confined to her bed since that time, though her condition had not been considered critical until a short time before her passing.

Mrs. Williams was a native of Ft. Deposit. Shortly after her marriage to the late A. A. Williams, a former Sheriff of Conecuh County, she moved to Evergreen to make her home. She lived here most of the time until a few years ago when she and Mr. Williams moved to Montgomery and later to Ft. Deposit.

She was well known to most of the people of this city and surrounding section and had numerous warm friends who join with the family in their great sorrow at her passing.

Funeral services were held from Cope Funeral Home at 10 A. M. Sunday, conducted by Rev. J. H. Bullington, pastor of the Evergreen Methodist Church. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Byrd L. Moore, Fairhope, Mrs. Robert Lee Stallworth, Evergreen and Miss Beryl Williams, Ft. Deposit; brothers, Albert and Jim Meriwether of Mobile and Gordon Meriwether of Montgomery; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Greene and Mrs. Bessie Poindexter of Montgomery; also five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams Dies At Home Here

Final rites for Mrs. Alberta Meriwether Williams, 74, were held at 10 A. M. at Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen Sunday, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. Rev. J. H. Bullington officiated.

Mrs. Williams died at her home in Fort Deposit, Friday night after an extended illness.

Mrs. Williams is a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Byrd L. Moore, Fairhope, Mrs. Robert Lee Stallworth, Evergreen, and Miss Beryl Williams, Fort Deposit; two (sic) brothers, Albert and Jim Meriwether of Mobile and Gordon Meriwether of Montgomery; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Greene and Mrs. Bessie Poindexter, Montgomery.
