Note: Mrs. Peter Tubbs, 92 who settled with her husband in thiscommunity when three houses marked the beginning of thecity of Seymour, died at 8:45 Monday morning at her homeafter a long illness.Survivors numbering 101, including two great greatgrandchildren, arelisted for Mrs. Tubbs, who was born August 14, 1848 in Neosha,DodgeCounty, WI, and came to this vicinity with her husband in 1868,whenthe nearest post office and trading post were at Appleton.She and her husband occupied the Woodland Farm north ofSeymour. Mrs Tubbs moved to Seymour in 1921. The couplecelebratedtheir Golden Wedding anniversary in 1916.Mrs. Tubbs was the last surviving charter member of the SeymourMethodist Church...She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society ofthe church, the Women's Relief Corps, and the American LegionAuxillary.Survivors are four sons, Lloyd, George, Herbert and Frank,Seymour; sixdaughters, Miss Eleanor Tubbs, Mrs Carrie Carter, Mrs. FloraBlanshan, Mrs.Lenora Hillegas, Seymour, Mrs. Mary Nickel, Mrs Phoebe Steward,Green Bay;45 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and two great greatgrandchildren.Funeral services were held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at theSeymourMethodist Church, with burial in the Seymour City Cemetery. TheAmerican Legion Auxillary conducted services at the grave.
