Thomas George Caruthers, son of Reverend R.A. and Nancy Cook Caruthers, was born March 14, 1850 in Tylersburg, Clarion County, Pennsylvania and died July 1, 1930 at Liberal, Missouri.

In 1876 he married Mary E. Price. She was born in 1854 and died January 23, 1897 and was buried in the Bristow Cemetery.

The children of this family were John, married to Jessie Denio, March 15, 1907; Louise V., married Dennis Youngs; Eleanor, married Walter Rouse; Mary Elizabeth, born December 16, 1885, married Wesley Ray McColl; Richard A.; Laura, born January 14, 1894, died May 12, 1970, married Donald C. Crawford, December 24, 1921; Margaret, died in infancy.

After the death of his first wife Thomas married Mrs. Susan Craig Hetherington.
