Mrs. Mary E. Caruthers was born in Page county, Iowa, July 29, 1854, and died in Kill Creek township, Jan. 23, 1897, aged 42 years, 5 months and 24 days. She united with the Christian church at the age of 16 years and retained her membership until 1889, when she united with the M.E. church at Bristow. She was married to T.G. Caruthers at Clinton, Douglas county, Kansas, in 1876, and moved to Osbourne county with him in 1876. She leaves a husband and seven children and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Isaac Kurtz at the Bristow M.E. church, Jan. 25, 1897. Contributor: KURTZ (47113549)
