Mrs. Howell was born in Casey County, Ky., daughter of John R. and Miranda Woodrum. She was a member of the Salvation Army for 50 years. She married George E. Howell Sr. in 1910. He died in 1967.
Surviving are her sons, Russell "Gene" and Robert W., both of Decatur; daughters, Pearl Crawley of Decatur; Nadean Cooper of Titusville, Fla.; 30 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, three daughters, twelve brothers and sisters and one grandchild preceded her in death.
