Mr. Howell was born in Mine La Motte, Missouri, son of George Elmer and Daisy Mae Howell. He was a pipe fitter, member of the Church of God and Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his son, Robert J. Of Decatur; mother of Decatur; brothers, Russell E. and Robert W., both of Decatur; sisters, Mrs. William (Lillie) Benton of Long Creek; Mrs. James (Nadine) Cooper of Titusville, Fla.; Mrs. Pearl Crawley of Decatur; thee grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
One daughter preceded him in death.
