HOUSTON, Minn. - Mrs. Blanche Johnson, 76, Houston, died Thursday, May 6, in Valley View Nursing Home, Houston.
She was born Aug. 5, 1905, to Ole and Martha (Paine) Herreid. She married William S. Johnson on Aug. 11, 1939, in Blair. He died in 1968.
Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of La Crosse Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1926. She had been a nurse at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital and a special nurse for the homebound.
She was a member of the La Crosse Lutheran Nurses' Association.
Survivors are two brothers, Richard and Carl J. Herreid, both of Ettrick; and two sisters, Grace Herreid of Ettrick and Mrs. Bernice [sic] Anderson of Blair.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Looney Valley Lutheran Church, rural Houston. the Rev. Adrienne Heskin will officiate and burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Cook Funeral Home, Houston, Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. , and on Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. Friends also may call at the church on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the services.
