Carl J Herreid, 90, of Rt 1 Ettrick died Saturday in Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.
He was a WWI veteran (a survivor of Tuscania February 1918.) he lived in Ettrick his entire life and was enjoyed as a carpenter. He was the son of Ole and Mattie Paine Herreid Born 29 Sept 1896 in Ettrick.
He is survived by a brother Richard and a sister Grace Herreid.
Services will be at 11 am at North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church with burial in Faith Lutheran cemetery.
Tracked in census from 1900-1940 in Ettrick
Note: 14 survivors of 15 Trempealeau County men were on Tuscania. Other local soldiers on board included his brother, Gordon Paine Herreid, cousin, John A Hellekson and Henry Oksnee of Ettrick; Otis E Hutchins of Independence died.
