Ruth E. Hill, 90, of Sparland, Ill., formerly of Tamaroa, passed away at 5:00 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at her daughter's home in Sparland, Ill.
Ruth had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Good Shepard Baptist Church in Henry, Ill. and a former member of the Grace Baptist Church in Tamaroa.
She was born April 13, 1923 at Tamaroa, Ill., the daughter of George and Bertha (Meese) Lively.
She married Jimmie Hill on Jan. 7, 1945 at Tamaroa, Ill. and he preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by two sons - Brian Hill and wife Jean and Jimmie Hill and wife Tammy, all of Tamaroa, one daughter - Kathy Welch and husband Dennis of Sparland, Ill., three sisters - Hazel Kotel of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Thomas of Du Quoin and Eva Conner of Du Quoin, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister - Helen Arnold and two brothers - George Lively and Richard Lively.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Pastor Richard Nelson officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
