Mary L. Thomas, 84, of Tamaroa, passed away at 11:35 P.M., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Mary had been a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was born February 9, 1932 at Tamaroa, IL, the daughter of George and Bertha (Meese) Lively.
She is survived by four daughters - Johnie Leonard and husband Jerry of Tamaroa, Anita Chapman and husband David of Du Quoin, Paula Blackwill of Willis, TX, and Julie Goedert and husband Mark of Hastings, NE, one sister - Hazel Kotel of Mesa, AZ, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons - Mark Chaney and Dennis Chaney, three sisters - Ruth Hill, Eva Conner and Helen Arnold and two brothers - George Lively and Richard Lively.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Bro. Ron Keller officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home
