Esther Aldridge Maples, age 99, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2002 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born October 2, 1902 in Union Ridge, North Carolina; daughter of William Thomas and Hulda Ann Page Aldridge.

She married Leonard L. Maples April 1, 1923. He passed away October 23, 1989.

Esther was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She and Leonard were caretakers of the Salt Lake 15th Ward building. They enjoyed gardening and shared their vegetables with family and friends.
They loved to visit friends and make "Pop Calls." Esther also enjoyed quilting and scrapbooking.

She is survived by her children, Lois (Milton) Ouzts of Bountiful and Ernie (Carol) Maples of West Valley City; brothers and sisters, Pearl Lineberry of Georgia, Dan (Katherine) Aldridge of Idaho, Curry (Daisy) Aldridge and Rufus Aldridge of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 47 great-grand-children; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandchild, Esther.
