Faris grew up in a place that he loved, surrounded by a family that he loved deeply. His life in the early days in Heber taught him many lessons of love and sacrifice through the hard time of the depression, which served him all his days.
He met and married his sweetheart, Pauline Swain. Together they built a life, family, and a business. They were blessed to have had three children, Saundra, Nancy, and Wayne. Life extended some challenges to Faris.
He lost his hearing early in life. The passing of his daughter, Nancy Jo and his sweetheart, Pauline.
Later he lost his eyesight and a portion of his sharp mind, but he never stopped whistling or singing, or his desire to serve those around him to the very end.
He had a devout testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a humble member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Saundra (Harvey) Brinkley, son, Wayne (Julie) Horner, eight grandchildren; 11 great-grand-children; brother, Glade and Yvonne Horner; sister, Avis Farley and Rulon Huntington, all of whom he dearly loved.
He is preceded in death by his sweetheart, Pauline; daughter, Nancy Jo; grandson, Daniel Simpson Horner; great-grandson, Nicholas Brinkley, and two sisters, Vonda, Elva.
He is now free from his physical ailments to fully serve again.
Services will be Wed. Jan 17, 2001, 11 a.m. at the Edgehill LDS 1st Ward chapel, 1889 S. 1700 E. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 S. and 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial, Heber City Cemetery, 2 p.m. Directors, Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, Heber City.
