William Horner Dies at Heber

HEBER — William E. Homer, 70, retired electrician, died at the Heber Hospital at 2:30 a. m. Friday following a long illness.

A life-long resident of Wasatch County, Mr. Homer worked for many years as an operator at the Heber municipal light and power plant.

Born In Heber. Oct. 24, 1882, he was a son of William E. and Amanda Jane Smith Homer. He was married Nov. 23, 1904, In the Salt Lake LDS Temple, to Esther Brown. She died in 1948, and in March, 1949, he was married to Mrs. Jean Hicken.

Mr. Horner was a charter member of the Heber volunteer fire department. He was a member of the LDS Church, and at the time of his death held the office of elder.

Surviving are his widow; five sons and daughters, Mrs. Verdell (Elva) Ritchie, Charleston, Utah; Mrs. Owen T. (Avis) Farley, Salt Lake City; Faris Horner, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Rulon (Vonda) Huntington, Ontario. Ore., and Glade B. Horner, Heber, and two-stepdaughters, Mrs. Velma Roseigh, Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Emogean Kirby, Heber.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Horner, Heber, and three sisters, Mrs. Janje Murdock, Heber; Mrs. Lula Hammond, Ogden, and Mrs. Nora Giles, Tooele.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p. m. in the Wasatch LDS Stake Tabernacle by Lyndan Chapman, bishop of the Heber Fourth Ward.

Friends may call at the family residence, 248 S. 3rd W., Heber Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday prior to services.

Burial will be In Heber Cemetery, directed by Olpin Mortuary.
