Mrs. Julia Gallek, 78, Harding, died today in her home. She was born in Poland, Feb. 15, 1881, and came to America alone at the age of 18. For a time she worked in New York, then went to Chicago, Ill., where she resided until her marriage. She lived in Wells before moving to Pulaski township, where she had since lived. She was a member of the Rosary sodality of Holy Cross church, Harding.
Surviving her are children by both of her marriages: Walter Dembowski, Harding; William and Joseph Dembowski, St. Paul; Mrs. Larry Glassman (Anna), Backus; Mrs. Adam Woitalla (Julia), Harding; Alex Gallek, Harding; Mrs. Herman Gross (Victoria), St. Cloud; Mrs. Roman Gross (Amelia), Lastrup and Mrs. Wally O'Steele, (Marie), St. Paul. There are 39 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Cross church, Harding, the Rev. Leo Otto officiating, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call in the Brenny Funeral home Wednesday, and the rosary will be prayed there Wednesday at 8 p.m. On Thursday the body will be taken to the new church undercroft in Harding, where friends may call, and where the parish rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday.
