Charles J. Wilson, 83, of 55 Hanover Street, Gettysburg, died at his home yesterday at 7:50 p.m. following a heart attack. Mr. Wilson had a leg removed on January 3 because of illness. Born in Adams County, he was a son of the late Miles and Annie Plank Wilson and resided in Gettysburg for the past 19 years. Prior to that time he was a farmer and nurseryman and operated a store in Harney for some time. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg. He is survived by his widow the former Hazel Rentzel whom he married Sept 29, 1917; one son Clyde D. Wilson, Gettysburg R. D. 3; two daughters, Mrs. Armor Leatherman, Gettysburg R. D. 1 and Mrs. Glenn Heller, McKnightstown; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Wilson, Gettysburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Reigle, Gettysburg, and Mrs. William Voke, Tampa Fla. Funeral services will be held at the Bender funeral home, Gettysburg, at 1:30 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Paul L. Reaser, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow after 7 p.m.
