OBITUARY
SOLDIER -- Paul Milton Tolin, 62, Soldier, died Saturday in an Onaga hospital where he was admitted May 16. He had cancer. He was born Aug. 5, 1907, at Soldier. He lived in the Soldier community the past 35 years. Earlier, he lived in the Havensville community. He had been a farmer and operated a hardware store at Soldier the past several years. He was a member of the United Methodist church and Lions Club, both at Soldier. He was married to Velma Bottom Feb. 24, 1934. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs Gale Kling, 2017 Harp Place, Topeka; a son, Benny L. Tolin, Cortex, Colo.; three sisters, Corabelle Tolin, Helen Tolin, and Mrs N. M. Perry, all of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Gene Tolin, Oracle, Ariz., and Roy DuCharm, Washington, D. C. and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist church at Soldier. Burial will be in Soldier cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mercer funeral home, Holton is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary-Paul M. Tolin

Paul Melton Tolin, son of Roy and Laura Tolin, died of cancer May 30 in the Onaga hospital at the age of 62. He was born near Soldier on August 5, 1907. He lived in the Soldier community the past thirty-five years. Earlier he had lived in the Havensville community.

He had been a farmer and operated the hardware store in Soldier for the past nine years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Lions Club of Soldier.

He was married to Velma Bottom on February 24, 1934. To this union two children were born.

He is survived by his wife Velma; a daughter Mrs. Brenda Kling, Topeka; a son Benny Tolin, Cortez, Colo.; three sisters Corabelle and Helen Tolin and Mrs. Hazel Perry, all of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers Gene Tolin of Oracle, Ariz., and Roy DuCharm of Washington, D. C.; two grandchildren Jimmie Paul Tolin and Kristan Kay Kling and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Soldier United Methodist Church on June 1, at two p.m. Rev. Melvin Ammon officiated. Interment was in the Soldier Cemetery.
