MRS T. A. SELLERS
Mrs. T. A. Sellers died at her home in Cedar township on Sept. 23, 1940, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 23 days.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist church in Russell, and burial was in the Russell cemetery.
Sarah Iris Van Nice was born Nov. 1, 1855, in Danville, Ind. She came to Lucas county, Iowa, with her parents in 1863.
She was married to Durbin Harris on Dec. 7, 1876. To this union seven children were born, four of whom preceded her in death. Those living are Frank Harris of Carmen, Okla.; Mrs. Arthur Long of Alberta, Canada; and Francis Harris of Albia, Iowa.
She also is survived by sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and four brothers, Wm. Van Nice of Danville, Ind.; M. E. Van Nice of McLaughlin, S. D.; E. Van Nice of Palmyra, Mo.; and J. O. Van Nice of McLaughlin, S. D.
In 1888 she and her husband moved to Independence, Oregon, where he died. She then returned to Lucas county, Iowa, and on July 30, 1915, she was united in marriage to Alonzo McKinley. He passed away in November, 1927. On March 6, 1929, she married T. A. Sellers, who survives her.
She united with the church earlier in life and has always been a faithful christian, helping others in any way that she could.
