Spartanburg Hearld Journal Obituary, Feb. 13, 1963, page 14. Campobello - Mrs. HATTIE CLAYTON DILL, 78, widow of HENRY ELFORD DILL of Campobello Route 2, died Tuesday at 7 a.m. in Tryon Hospital after several years of declining health and a serious illness of two days ago. Mrs. DILL was a lifelong resident of Holly Springs and was the daughter of the late MARVIN and SARAH WILLIAMS CLAYTON. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and the Mary Harley Sunday School CLass. Her husband died in 1952. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. MYRTLE LINDSEY of Landrum Route 2, Mrs. MILDRED BRADLEY and CANNIE PITTMAN of Campobello Route 2; six sons, SAM, BOYD, LLYOD and JENNINGS DILL, all of Campobello Route 2, CHALMER DILL of Rock Hill and DWYNELL DILL of Greer; one brother, SIMON CLAYTON of Campobello Route 2; one sister, Mrs. SALLIE GUY of Seneca; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family is at the home of a son, JENNINGS DILL in Holly Springs. The Wood Mortuary of Greer is in charge of arrangements.
