Campobello - April 23, SAMUEL DAVID ATKINS, Sr., 54, farmer of the Motllow Creek section, died today at 3 p.m. at a Spartanburg hospital after an illness of 15 days. Mr. ATKINS was born and reared in the Motlow Creek Section. He was the son of the late MASSEY CAPPS and HARRIET ANN PEIGLER ATKINS. Mr. ATKINS survived by his wife the former Miss DAISEY EUBANKS; nine sons, GETTYS and GUY ATKINS of Campobello, LADONE ATKINS of Greer Route 2, MASSEY, ELBERT, CEALUS, BLAKE, HAYDEN and SAMUEL DAVID ATKINS, Jr., of Campobello Route 2, three daughters, Mrs. J. Q. BRUCE, Mrs. RUEBEN E. THORNE and Mrs. BETH ATKINS, of Campobello, Route 2; three sisters, Mrs. EMMA FISHER, Mrs., IDA FOWLER and Mrs. HENRY FARMER, of Campobello Route 2; four grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Motlow Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. PAUL MABRY and W. A. LOUDERMILK officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be nephews as follows; CLAUDE and JASPER FISHER, FRED and CARL ATKINS, JOE FOWLER and WALTER STAGGS. Honorary pallbearers will be CHARLES MABRY, L. D. RAINEY, C. G. SLOAN, J. N. MILLS, BOYD MILLS, ROBERT McMILLIAN, ALEX FARMER, BENJAMIN FARMER, ANDREW NEVES and C. P. PAINTER. Flower girls will be MYRTLE ATKINS, BEATRICE FISHER, THELMA FISHER and BERTHA PAINTER. The body is at the residence.
