Dorothy Pickens Maloney

Davis native Dorothy Pickens Maloney, 68, died Sept. 3, 2004, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. Graveside services were Sept. 7 at Green Hill Cemetery with Pastor Randy Chapman officiating.

She was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Davis to Roy and Jewell Pickens. She attended Woodland and Davis Schools. While living in Wyoming, she met and married Charles "Red" Maloney. They moved back to Murray County and made their home west of Davis. Mrs. Maloney had been in nursing 20 years. She loved flowers, gardening and living in the country. She also enjoyed fishing and camping. Mrs. Maloney also liked playing gin rummy, a game she
learned last year, with family.

She is survived by: her husband; two sons, Rick Jones of Oklahoma City and Tim Maloney of Ponca City; two brothers, Bobby Pickens of Pauls Valley and Carroll Carter of Davis; two sisters, Linda Pickens-Price of Houston, Texas, and El Ray Pickens-Anderson of Davis; 10 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Maloney was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tony Randall Jones, and a brother, Carl Carter. Krien Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
