December 27, 2007:

Bobby Gene Pickens, age 65, went home to be with the Lord on Christmas morning 2007 at his sister's home surrounded by his family. He spent his last night exactly as he wanted, opening gifts with his family and celebrating Christmas, as well as a candlelight spiritual at the Atascocita Church. He was able to take the time to tell everyone how he felt about each loved one individually and the family was able to pray together. He was born Feb. 17, 1942 in Davis, Okla., to Roy Clifton and Jewell (Honeycut) Pickens.
Bob was many things to many different people. A respected basketball coach and long time school teacher, a mentor, a giver, a helper, and a master Catfish fisherman full of stories (of the one that got away)! But most importantly he was a father full of love, a grandfather full of wisdom, a brother full of faith and an uncle full of advice.
Bob Pickens was preceded in death his father, Roy Clifton Pickens; his mother, Jewell Pickens; his sister Dorothy Pickens Maloney, and his brothers, Carl "Tee" Carter and Carroll Chris Clifton Carter.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Lance Pickens and his wife, Kristi, from Pauls Valley and Chad Pickens from Carrollton, Texas; his two grandchildren, Katrina Pickens and Brendon Pickens; his two sisters, Linda Pickens Price and her husband, Ben, from Huffman, Texas, and El Ray Pickens Anderson and her husband, Charles, from Davis. Additionally he leaves many nieces, nephews and close friends. He will be missed dearly and loved forever.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Davis, with the Rev. Randy Chapman officiating.
Condolances may be sent to the family at www.krienfuneralhome.com.
