He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Busby sisters: Ethel Sparke of Kinsley, KS and Agnes Kesterson of Hermit, CA children: Susan and Rod VanGundy and Joni and David Murphey, of Oklahoma City, and Rusty and Billie Busby of Harrah, OK grandchildren: Keri Day and husband James, Cameron Palone, Brandon and Michelle Palone and Kaitlyn Palone of Oklahoma City Craig and Hidi Busby of Choctaw Tenisha and Will Guevara of Jacksonville, FL Lacey and Issac Kraft of Del City Cory Busby of Midwest City and Cassidy and Web Brunsteter of Seattle, WA great-grandchildren: Jacquelyne and Olivia Day, Mikayla and Colby Busby and Gabby, Shaley, Elizabeth, and Isaac Kraft.
Leon attended high school in Kinsley, Kansas, joined the Kansas National Guard and later the Air Force, where he served for 21 years as a Maintenance Disposal Tech, serving in the Korean War, in Japan and several U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii. He retired June 30, 1972 at Tinker AFB and worked at Shar-Main Automotive and Priebe's Auto Clinic.
Leon enjoyed his family, his yard, with the flowers and birds, and wood working.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 3, at Candlewood Chapel under the direction of Ford Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, in Midwest City, OK.
