MRS. PATTERSON DIES IN HOSPITAL
Wife of Prominent Leavenworth Business Man Surrenders to Shock of Operation
Mrs. Carrie B. Patterson, wife of Nar Patterson, member of the Leavenworth Furniture & Hardware Co. died after the shock of a surgical operation in the Wenatchee hospital last Sunday morning about 1 o'clock, at the age of 32 years. Beside her husband she is survived by two bright little girls, Narcisse aged 10, and Laura aged 6.
The Patterson family had made their home in Leavenworth for the past six years, and no woman was held in higher esteem and enjoyed a wider circle of devoted friends than Mrs. Patterson. She was a daughter of Wm. Briskey, who died at his home at Cashmere the past summer. She was a sister of Mrs. W. T. Rarey and Miss Edith Briskey of Wenatchee, and Mrs. Carl Thueson, of Everett, N. N. Briskey of Sunnyside, J. M. Briskey of Seattle and David Briskey of Cashmere. The funeral services were held and burial took place at Cashmere, at 10 o'clock on Tuesday, Rev. Sanders, of Wenatchee, conducted the services. Beside the relatives of Mrs. Patterson there was present at the funeral Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Patterson, of Spokane, R. L. Patterson, of Portland and Wm. Patterson, of Viola, Wash., brothers of Nar Patterson. A large number of the members of the Eastern Star, lodge of Leavenworth, of which deceased was a member, went from here to attend the funeral.
The death of Mrs. Patterson, wholly unexpected, was a severe shock to this community, where she was be loved by all who were so fortunate as to know her.
