"'Milton Lester Blanks was born November 25,1914 to the parents Mr. Gabe Blanks and Mrs. Laura Blanks. He was the third child born to this union. He was born in Kerrville, Texas, where he also attended public school. He united with the Methodist Church at an early age. He was married to Miss Irene Benson on January 20,1941. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on August 14,1942, serving in the States and in the Pacific, and was honorably discharges on October 14, 1945.
His father, Mr. Gabe Blanks, and a sister preceded him in death.
He was better known and called by his family and friends as (Honey).
He entered the V.A. Hospital, Legion, Texas on September 5, 1965, where he departed this life September 9,1965 at 12:15 P.M.
He leaves to mourn his passing: Mrs. Irene Blanks, wife, San Francisco, California; Mrs. Laura Brown, Kerrville, Texas, Mother; Daughters: Mrs. Mary James and Mrs. Tillie Butler, San Francisco, California; a son, Mr. Tom Blanks, Kerrville, Texas; eight grandchildren, all of California; Two sisters,Mrs. Lydia Carrington and Mrs. Florine Benjamin both of Kerrville, Texas. Two brothers, Mr. L.G. Blanks, Kerrville, Texas, and M/SGT Floyd Blanks, Waterloo, Iowa. Three Aunts, Mrs. Josephine Garrett of Almagordo, New Mexico; Mrs. Zula Gillum and Mrs. Helen Neal of Kerrville,Teas. Four uncles, Mr. Louid Blanks of Kerrville, Texas, Mr. Joe Ware of Temple,Texas, Mr. George Ware and Mr. Isreal (Peter) Ware both of San Antonio, Texas. Brothers-in-law, Mr. Robert Carrington and Mr. Willie Benjamin; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Sally Blanks of Kerrville, Texas and Mrs. Ada Mae Blanks of Waterloo, Iowa. Sons-in-law, Mr. Fred Butler and Mrs. James, both of California. Nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends."
