He was born in Kerrville, Texas, where he also attended public school. He united with the Methodist Church at an early age. He was married to Miss Irene Benson on January 20,1941. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on August 14,1942, serving in the States and in the Pacific, and was honorably discharges on October 14, 1945.
His father, Mr. Gabe Blanks, and a sister preceded him in death.
He was better known and called by his family and friends as (Honey).
He entered the V.A. Hospital, Legion, Texas on September 5, 1965, where he departed this life September 9,1965 at 12:15 P.M.
