"Miss Laura Ware was born to the parents of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ware on September 15,1888 in Kerr County. She attended the public school. She was raised in a Christian home, and confessed Christ at an early age, and held Christ until the end. She was married to Mr. Gabe Blanks, to this union six children were born, three preceded her in death; Mrs. Annie L. Wheat, Mr. Lester Blanks, and Mr. L.G. Blanks.
She met and married Mr. Riley Brown, who preceded her in death.
She United with Mount Olive Baptist by Christian experience. She was active in Sunday School where she taught class No. 1B in the Primary Department. Group Captain in the B.T.U., Treasurer of Missionary No. 1. Worked in the kitchen, attended teacher meeting, and prayer meeting, also the Star Tight. Very active until her health began to fail. But continued ti pray, trust & faith God. She departed this life August 17,1979 at Sid Peterson Hospital.
Survivors include: one son, Mr. Floyd Blanks, San Antonio; two (2) daughters, Mrs. Lydia Carrington and Mrs. Florine Clay, Kerrville,Texas; one (1) sister, Mrs. Josephine Garrett, Kerrville,Texas; Ten (10) grandchildren; fifteen (15) great grandchildren, and four (4) great, great, grandchildren; nieces,nephews, and a host of relatives and friends."
