They were among the earliest European settlers in Long Valley. She bore at least 12 children between 1892 and 1915: Oscar Mathias, Hilda Maria, Lyydie (Lydia) Mathilda, Sophia, Helmi Elina, August, John Edward, Ida Emilia, John Filbert, Aile Wilhelmina, Selma Alina, and Edna Matilda Lahti. She died at Lake Fork, aged 71.
