Ethel Adelle Allison was the first born child to Benjamin Alexander Allison and Adelle (Delle) Ferguson Allison.

On 24 Dec 1907 Ethel married Dr. Herman Camp Allen. The family lived in Lawrence, Kansas where Dr. Allen is connected with the chemistry department of the university.
Herman C. Allen died 12 May 1951.

"Mrs. Ethel Allen, 81, of Macon, Mo., who moved to Macon from McPherson in 1919, died Feb. 14 at a Macon Hospital after a lengthy illness and will be buried here on Feb. 17. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. at McPherson Cemetery with Quiring - Glidden in charge of arrangements. Rev. O. T. Meador will officiate.

Mrs. Allen was born April 23, 1885, at McPherson, daughter of Benjamin and Delle Ferguson Allison and was married to Herman Allen Dec. 24, 1907 and he is deceased. She was a member of the Congregational Church.

Surviving are a brother, John Allison, Scottsdale, Ariz. and four sisters, Mrs. Frank O'Bannon, Clarmore, Okla., Mrs. Dean Metcalf, Apple Valley, Calif., Mrs. Amos Hawkinson, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Whitney Huntington, Boulder, Colo."

"Ethel Allen, eldest daughter of Benjamin and Delle Ferguson Allison was born on April 23, 1885, in McPherson, Kansas. She attended the McPherson Public Schools and graduated from the McPherson College Academy. Ethel also attended Washburn College at Topeka, Kansas, and Colorado University.

On December 24, 1907, she was united in marriage to Herman Allen in McPherson. This union was blessed with one son, Benjamin, who preceded her in death. The couple lived in Kansas City for several years while Dr. Allen was teaching in a high school. They then moved to Lawrence, Kansas, where he had accepted a position as a professor at the University of Kansas. Dr. Allen preceded Ethel in death. She has resided in Macon, Missouri, since 1919. Ethel was a member of the Congregational Church.

Surviving members of her family include one brother, John Allison, Colorado Springs, Colorado; four sisters: Mrs. Frank O'Bannon Claremore, Oklahoma; Mrs. Dean Metcalf, Apple Valley, California; Mrs. Amos Hawkinson, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Whitney Huntington, Boulder, Colorado, and many nieces and newphews.

The graveside service conducted by the Reverend O.T. Meador of the First Congregational Church on Friday, February 17, 1967, at eleven o'clock a.m. at the McPherson Cemetery."
