Word has been received of the death of Guy Henry Blessing, 89, former Marshall County resident more recently of Knoxville. He died Dec. 21 at the Knoxville Area Hospital and services were held Monday in Knoxville with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown.

Born April 6, 1895 in Lewistown, Mo., he was the son of John David Blessing and Birdie Vandruff. He was married Sept. 3, 1915, in Memphis, Mo. to Maggie Louella Byrn and they farmed in Marshall County, in Missouri and in Marion County, near Knoxville.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold, and a daughter, Marjorie, a sister and a brother.

Surviving are his wife Maggie of Knoxville, a son, Gerald Blessing, Bondurant, a daughter, Evelyn (Mrs. Jack) Lester, Des Moines, a brother, Roy Blessing of Downing, Mo., 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
