Mary Frances Wise, 77, a former Lafayette resident, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Palm Springs, Calif.
Born June 28, 1925, in Lafayette, she graduated from St. Ann School and Jefferson High School.
She served in the Navy Personnel Department in Washington, D.C., and other cities, during World War II.
She married Roy D. Wise on Sept. 21, 1946, in Lafayette.
Mrs. Wise was a bookkeeper and office manager for over 30 years, retiring from Lafayette Truck Center in 1985. She was a member of Business and Professional Women's Association and had been named the Business Woman of the year.
Mrs. Wise had been a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette and was a member of St. Theresa Parish in Palm Springs, Calif.
She had worked on her family history, and she enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Janet of Palm Springs and Susan of Farmington, N.M.; two sons, the Rev. Stephen of Oregon, and Father Richard of Georgia; and three brothers, David Easterwood and Paul Easterwood, both of Lafayette, and Ron Easterwood of Florida.
