Lillie Marie Schwarting, the daughter of Lincoln and Mary Harris Akers, was born February 20, 1905 at her parents home in Exira Township, Audubon County Iowa and died August 14, 2000 at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa, at the age of 95 years, 5 months and 24 days.

She was baptized at the Exira Christian Church in Exira, Iowa. She attended rural school near Exira, graduated from the Exira High School with the Class of 1923, then taught rural school for one year. On September 4, 1924, she was united in marriage to David Schwarting in Glenburn, North Dakota. They lived in the upper Midwest area for several years, then returned to the Exira area where Lillie worked various jobs. They moved into Exira in 1941. David died May 25, 1968. Lillie maintained her home until she became a resident of the Exira Care Center on February 25, 2000. She was an active member of the Exira ChristianCchurch where she taught Sunday school and was involved in the Ladies' Circle. She was a member of the Garden club and the UZ-U-Rite club and enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband, were her son-in-law Dale Rowley; her parents; her brothers and sisters: Otto Akers, Byron Akers, Trilby Akers, Harold Akers, Sr., Frank Akers, Lewis Akers, Robert Akers, Laura Stager, Cleo Brown, Winona Kesselring and an infant sister, Sylvia Akers.
