Rachel Orpha (Williams) Miller, 95, Indianapolis, was called home to be with the Lord April 26, 2009. She was born in Westfield, Indiana to Orchis and Almeda (Arnold) Williams.
She married Richard Williams Miller on September 16, 1934. They had two children: Senator Patricia Miller (Dr. Kenneth Miller) and Professor Richard W. Miller II (Margaret).
She has six grandchildren: Richard Miller III, Tamara (Miller) Fodrea (Rex), Anna Miller, Dr. Matthew Miller (Jane Ann), Paul Miller (Marcia) and Mark Miller. She has six great-grandchildren: Ryan, Rachel A. Miller, Rachel L and Emma Miller, Randy and Maren Fodrea and two sisters: Gladys (Williams) Overman and Mary (Williams) Bono.
Rachel was a RN at Methodist Hospital and Community East Hospital until her retirement in 1977.
She and her husband owned and operated Miller Lunch in Cumberland for 25 years. She was a member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church for over 65 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Rachel lived a life of service in caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, her son, four sisters and one brother.
