WESTFIELD -- Bessie A. (Luckett) Scearce, 85, of Westfield died Wednesday, Jan.12, 1994, in Westfield Village.
She was a registered nurse. She worked at Frances Willard Hospital in Chicago and at Cook County Hospital. She was a private duty nurse at Riverview Hospital.
She was married to Edward R. Luckett on July 23, 1935 in Chicago,IL, who preceded her in death in 1966. She later married Marvin Z. Scearce on Jan. 14, 1969 in Noblesville, Indiana, who preceded her in death in 1983.
She was born Jan. 3, 1909, in Parke County, Indiana., to Orchis and Almeda (Arnold) Williams.
She was a 1929 graduate of Westfield High School.
Survivors include a brother, Robert A. Williams of
Westfield; five sisters, Mildred Stalker, Bertha Williams and Gladys Overman, all of Westfield, Rachel O. Miller of Cumberland, and Mary L. Bono of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at McMullan Funeral Home in Westfield, with the Rev. Robert Stubbs officiating. Burial will be in Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
