OBITUARY FOR ROBERT ARNOLD WILLIAMS

Robert A. Williams, 87, died Thursday (April 28, 1994) at Westfield Village Healthcare in Westfield. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born Dec. 17, 1906, in Rockville. His parents were Orchis Williams and Almeda (Arnold) Williams. He was married to Mary Ruth Gilson (on Sept. 7, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN). She preceded him in death in June 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Kay Denny of Anderson; a son, Robert J. Williams of Speedway; five sisters, Mildred Stalker, Bertha Williams and Gladys Overman, all from Westfield, Orpha Miller of Cumberland and Mary Louise Bono of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Williams, and two sisters, Olive Ballard and Bessie Scearce.

He was a comptroller for Glass Container Corp. (formerly Fairmount Glass Works) for 41 years, retiring in 1971.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Southport, Southport Lodge No. 270 F&AM and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Singleton & Herr Madison Avenue Mortuary with the Rev. Robert Amon officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
