MORGAN - Pearl Amelia Mikesell Smith, 92, died Tuesday, Dec.24,1991 at her home.
She was born Dec. 16. 1900, in Morgan, a daughter of Willard Bishop and Elizabeth Roberts Carter Mikesell.
She married Joseph Leon Smith on July 1, 1920, in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 2, 1965. He later died on June 9, 1967.
She was a member of the LDS Church, Morgan 5th Ward. She attended schools in Morgan and also received her education from the world, the home, the mountains and the stream. She was a mother and a gentle devoted caring wife. she was a friend to all; and no one, including children, grandchildren, and friends left her home without a treat and her love. Hers was not an organized aid; she welcomed everyone . She cared for, fed and comforted anyone who was in need of help. Her grandchildren and friends all have dolls she crafted.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Steve (and his wife, Loraine)Smith, Don (and his wife, Lula B.)Smith, Bonita (and her husband, Wayne)Croft all of Morgan; 26 grandchildren; 123 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters,, Florence Brewer, Audrey Smith, Arlene Smith; four brothers, two sister, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.in the Morgan 5th Ward Chapel in Porterville, with Bishop Dave Corpany officiating.
Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment, South Morgan Cemetery.
Buried December 28, 1991.
