Sylvester J. "Syl" Stallbaumer, 82, Seneca, KS, died October 24, 1991, at a Seneca nursing home.

He was born October 26, 1908, on a farm southwest of St. Benedict, KS, the son of William Edward and Anna Engelken Stallbaumer. He attended St. Mary's School in St. Benedict.

Mr. Stallbaumer was a trucker hauling cattle to St. Joseph, MO., for Holthaus Trucking. He later worked at Log Cabin Service Station. He served in the U.S. Army from June, 1942 until September, 1943.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Earle W. Taylor Post No 21 of the American Legion, both in Seneca.

He was married to Marguerite Funk Barnes on June 2, 1954, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. She survivies.

Other survivors include two step-sons, Fred Barnes, Tulsa, OK; John Barnes, Manhattan, KS; sisters, Edna Sack, Seneca, KS; Mary Ann Huninghake, Seneca, KS; Alma Sack, Denver, CO; brothers, Walter Stallbaumer, Seneca, KS; Paul Stallbaumer, Seneca, KS; and four step-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial was in the church cemetery with military honors.
