Lebanon, March 8 (Special) – Christian Kreider, 50-year-old farmer, of South Lebanon Township, took his own life today by asphyxiation in a grain box in his barn, by using a solution of carbon bisulfide, which he placed in the bin and then drew the lid tight. Mr. Kreider was one of the county's most prominent farmers and was known as the "potato king," by reason of his scoring in the 600 Bushel Club. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren and leaves his widow, two sons and a number of brothers and sisters. {Reading Eagle, March 8, 1933, Page 10]
