Mrs. Mabel E. Slater, 41, died at her home in Callensburg Monday, January 6, 1941. She was the wife of Charles E. Slater.

Mrs. Slater was the daughter of Steele Scott and Mary E. Johnston of Piney township.

She was married to Mr. Slater July 21, 1920. Surviving are her husband and the following children: Richard, Ruth, Warren, Roy, and Alma Rae, all at home. Also surviving are her parents and the following brothers and sisters: James Johnston, Sligo, Ida Bennett, Meadville; Ruth Larimer, Sligo; Grace Wetzel, Burnside; Frances Getson, La Havre, Nova Scotia; Scott Johnston, Sligo; Ray Johnston, Rimersburg; Mary Wood, Clarion; Eugene Johnston, Huey; Evelyn Wensel, Sligo; Anna Myrtle Best, Mill Hall; Violet Curll, Curllsville; Helen Best, Sligo; Paul Johnston, Sligo.

Mrs. Slater was a member of the Callensburg Methodist church in which funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, January 9.
