Wealthy Stout Heywood, age 87, passed away in Provo, Utah, April 21, 2000, of natural causes. Wealthy was born September 21, 1912, in Hurricane, Utah, to Walter Henry and Mary Workman Stout. She was the oldest of 10 children. Many of her summers were spent working hard at the family sawmill, on Cedar Mountain. She enjoyed drama, and she was very athletic in her high school years, being on the basketball and track teams. She enjoyed singing and dancing! She married Gardiner Leland Heywood May 10, 1932, in the St. George Temple. Gardiner boasted, that he was the only man to get "Wealthy" during the Depression! He preceded her in death November 23, 1996. Their marriage was blessed with 10 children, 61 grandchildren and 90 great-grand-children, whom they considered the jewels and joy of their life. They spent their early years farming in Hurricane, Utah, before moving to Salt Lake City Utah in 1950, residing in the Granite Stake. In 1964 the family was called on a three year LDS Church Building Mission, after which they continued building chapels and temples throughout the United States, until semi-retiring to the beautiful Hurricane Valley, in 1978. Wealthy served faithfully in many church positions, and she especially enjoyed her calling as a visiting teacher. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. The Gospel was her life. She was valiant in her testimony. Her great example, her compassion and love for others brought many into the church. Many were lifted by her bright smile. She loved the temple and rejoiced in knowing her family could be eternal.

She is survived by four brothers: Delworth (Alice) Stout, Scottsdale, AZ; Kenneth (Joyce) Stout, Holladay, UT; RDean (LeRae) Stout, San Ramon, CA; Arthur Lloyd (Nettie) Stout, Jacksonville, AL; her 10 children: Ronald (Claudia) Heywood, Hurricane, Utah; JoAnn Hagen, Salt Lake City, Utah; Dorothy (James) Harmon, Hurricane, Utah; Robert (Mavis) Heywood, Hurricane, Utah; Maurine (Lamar) Beatty, Central Point, Oregon; LaMar (Yasmin) Heywood, Hauula, Hawaii; Roger (Candy) Heywood, Hurricane, Utah; Steven (Carol) Heywood, West Bountiful, Utah; Vinetta (Orlo) Eyre, Provo, Utah; Colleen (Steven) Kirkland, Sandy, Utah; as well as the previously mentioned grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
