Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - May 15, 1996. Obituary: EPHRAIM--Clayton Workman Stout passed away on May 12, 1996 at an Orem convalescent facility following a lengthy illness. Clayton was born on June 11, 1917, in Hurricane, Utah, to Walter H. and Mary W. Stout. He married Fonda A. Pederson of Ephraim in the Manti Temple on June 2, 1941. They were together for 55 years of unparalleled happiness and peace. He was a master educator, receiving his education at Utah State University. He taught Automotive Technology at Snow College from 1949 until his retirement in 1982. An active High Priest in the LDS Church, Clayton served faithfully in ward and stake positions, including bishoprics, priesthood leadership positions, home teacher and many others. He filled an LDS mission in Texas 1937-1939.

Survived by his loving wife, Fonda; sons, Gail (Beverly), Sandy; Gary (Jo), Citrus Heights, Calif.; daughter, Janis Kunz (Bob), Orem; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Kenneth, Salt Lake; Delworth, Scotsdale, Ariz.; Dean, San Ramon, Calif.; Lloyd, Jacksonville, Alabama; one sister, Wealthy (Heywood), St. George; preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, at the 5th Ward Chapel, #10 So. Main, in Ephraim, at 12 noon. The viewing will also be at the chapel from 10 until noon. Interment to follow at the Ephraim Cemetery. Funeral Director: Buchanan Mortuary, Manti, Utah.
