Susie Bowers, 85, 811 Eighth street, life-long Perry resident, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday at Perry Memorial hospital where she had been a patient about one week.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian church with Rev. David Dickinson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Sumner cemetery under direction of Parker-Brown Funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to aid heart disease research.

Mrs. Bowers was the daughter of Pete and Mary Ewy and was born at Perry, March 21, 1897. She attended Perry rural schools and was married to Chester Bowers on Nov. 26, 1917, at Perry. Bowers preceded his wife in death.

She was a member of the First Christian church.

Among survivors are two sons, Morris Bowers, Perry; and Don Bowers, Burkburnett, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mildred) Hughes and Mrs. Myrtle Brewster, both of Perry; and Mrs. Wayne (Doris) Speer, Morrison; two brothers, Henry Ewy, Chickasha; and Pete Ewy, Ponca City; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Clara) Voise and Mrs. Mary Hasenfratz, both of Perry; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters in addition to her husband.

Casket Bearers will be Leon Hughes, Roger Speer, Jackson Brewster, Mark Schardein, Bill DeJager and Clint Adler.
