Mrs. Thelma Lennon Galloway, age 88, of Supply, died Sunday evening, March 10, 1996, at Columbia Brunswick Hospital.
Mrs. Galloway was born in Brunswick County on August 25, 1907, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Robbins Lennon. Mrs. Galloway was a charter member of Supply Baptist Church and was very active in all church activities. She was preceded in death by a son, V.E. Galloway Jr. in 1951 and her husband, Vinton Galloway Sr. in 1957.
She is survived by two children, J. Richmond (Jeanette) Galloway and Ruth Galloway, all of Supply; two grandsons, Joey (Kim) Galloway of Supply and Vin (Greta) Galloway of Lynchburg, Va.; three great-granddaughters, Kasey and Taylor Galloway of Supply and Ashley Galloway of Lynchburg, Va., one great-grandson, Garrett Galloway of Lynchburg, Va.; three brothers, Earle (Pauline) Lennon of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Frank (Muriel) Lennon and Clarence (Clara) Lennon, all of Bolivia; four sisters, Lucy Margaret Banks of Wilmington, Carrie Moore of Concord, DeIphia Harris of Fayetteville and Glenn (Ed) Wilson of Rocky Point.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 1996, at Supply Baptist Church with the Reverend Cliff Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be, Tolman Lennon, Raybon Moore, Jimmie Kirby, Gene Sellers, Ronald Hewett and Carl Barefoot.
Honorary pallbearers will be Judd Ward, Linwood Brown, H.T. (Buck) Sellers, Marvin Musselwhite, R.E. Sellers, Ronnie McKeithan, Ed Sellers, Emory Hewett, Jerry Mason, Dr. Timothy Gibble and the Reverend Bill Smith, Bill Caudill, Mack Long, Perry Sellers, Harlee Sellers and David Sellers.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 this evening at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Supply Chapel, and other times from the residence of J. Richmond and Jeanette Galloway, 200 Green Swamp Rd., Supply.
