Irene L. (Iverson) Wing, 86, 716 Poplar Street, Mandan, was born on July 30, 1914, in Provost, Alberta Canada, the daughter of Lafe and Inez (Williams) Iverson. She was raised and educated in Timmer, ND area. On November 1, 1932, she married Donald C. Wing in McIntosh. SD, and they raised seven children.
This fun loving and feisty woman was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a housewife and loved sewing, quilting and baking. One of her specialties was homemade bread, buns and rolls.
Irene is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Vi, Mandan; four daughters and five sons-in-law, Donna and Neil Hamilton, Freeport, Florida, Carol Spicer, Raleigh, NC, Deborah K. and Larry Larkin, Topeka, KS, Sandra and Curtis R. Rekkedal, Norfolk, VA, Leslie R. Wiedrick, Bismarck and Donald Fischer, Pierre, SD; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Hoovestal, New Salem and a close personal friend/neighbor and caretaker, Julia Stensland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, five sisters, her husband, an infant daughter, two grown daughters, one grandson, one granddaughter and one son-in-law.

Irene L. Wing, 86, 716 Poplar St., Mandan, died April 10, 2001, in Topeka, Kan. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mandan United Methodist Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Mark Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today and Sunday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
