Silas Calvin Search was the son of Ira & Tabitha Straight Search. He married Malinda Waugh Jul 20, 1873 in Lawrence County Ohio. Malinda died in 1901. He married second to Nancy E Schreves on 25 Aug 1906 in Athens County, Ohio. Nancy died in 1917. He was the father of six know children from Malinda Waugh: Sarah, Arthur, Frank, Madge, Martha, Madeline.

Silas Search, aged 74, father of Mrs. Winfield Smith, 259 Welch Ave, died at the Franklin County tuberculosis sanitarium Saturday. Three sons, William of Waynesburg, Ohio, and Arthur and Frank Search of Columbus, also survive. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Cook and Sons, funeral directors, Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Interment will be made at Obetz.
