William Jasper "Jackson" Search was born in Muskingum County, Ohio on May 22, 1845, the son of Ira I Search and his wife, Sarah Bailey. Sarah died abt 1848 and William was raised by his step mother, Tabitha Straight.
The family migrated to Gallia and Lawrence Co, Ohio area, where he met Virginia Cales and they married on Sept 23, 1875. She was the daughter of Isaac Cales & Rachel Taylor. They raised a large family being the parents of 11 known children: Sarah Permelia, Rachel M, Tabitha, William F, Lillian V, Myrtle R, Stella, James, Jasper L, Bessie, and Ira Floyd. Virginia died in 1919 and William Jasper followed her in 1922.
