Jennie Oliver, 75, Canton, died Wednesday in Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls. Jennie Anderson was born April 3, 1911, in Tuttle, Kidder Co., North Dakota where she lived until after her father died in 1918. In 1919 Jennie's mother moved the family back to South Dakota, just north of Lake Preston were she grew up. She attended Augustana Normal in Canton where she met and married Bruce Oliver, Feb. 26, 1933, in Worthing, Lincoln Co., SD. They farmed near Canton until her husband's death in July of 1978. She had lived at Colonial Village, Canton, since 1980. Survivors include two sons: Edward, Canton; and Ralph, Sioux Falls; two daughters: Mrs. Arlyn (Clarice) Schreurs, Larchwood, Iowa; and Mrs. Carl(Linda) Larson, Renner; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Mordt, Belevidere, Ill.; and Mrs. Doyle (Ann) Whorton, Malvern, Ark.; and two brothers: Peter, Wichita, Kan.; and Albert, Lake Preston. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Canton. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. A scripture service will begin at 7:30 tonight in the church. Anderson Funeral Home is handling arrangements."
