28 JUNE 2020, Added gender. 1) Original bio section from creator of the memorial is below the divider.~William Lloyd Dickerson, was born August 29, 1889, at Freedom, LaSalle County, Illinois, the son of Edgar Dickerson and Margaret Sarah (Skelton) Dickerson. He passed away June 7, 1968, in the Lincoln General Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. Dickerson was a resident of Lincoln for seven years. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Piedmont Park Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
He was united in marriage to Nina B. Hopkins at Great Bend, Kansas. To this union were born 11 children, 9 of whom are still living. Preceding him in death were his parents and two sons; Morel and Melzar. Survivors include his wife, Nina of the home; five sisters and five brothers; four sons, Amos of Martel, Iowa, Melvin and Richard, both of Lincoln; Bob of Kansas City, Missouri; five daughters; Esther Allen, Nevada, Iowa; Edith Swartz, Kansas City, Missouri; Genevieve Dickerson, Lincoln; Lucile Turk, Duncanville, Texas; and Eva Nordgren, St. Paul, Minnesota. There are 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren beside other relatives and a host of friends. Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Park, where he awaits the call of the Life-giver on the day of the resurrection of the just at our Lord's glorious appearing.
Services were held at the Piedmont Park Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Richard Eugene Hobbs, James Gearhart, Marlyn Schwartz, Monte Morris, Charles Henklemann, and Mitchell Chunestudy.
