Morel Dickerson Who Fell From a Horse at the Johnston Farm, Monday, Died Last Night

Morel Edwin Dickerson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lloyd Dickerson of Route 2, died last evening at 6:30 at the L. R. Johnston home two and one-half miles west of Garland. Young Dickerson died from injuries he received in an accident at the Johnston farm last Monday morning.
The boy had been working at the Johnston farm at various intervals for three years. Monday morning he took the cows to pasture and was his usual custom. When he did not return in a reasonable time the family started a search and found him lying unconscious in a field. The supposition is that he fell from the horse. He never gained consciousness, during the sixty hours he lingered before passing away.
Morel Edwin Dickerson was born in Tyrone, Texas County, Missouri, April 21, 1912, being 15 years, four months, and eight days of age at the time of his death.
Aside from the parents, he is survived by five sisters and two brothers, Esther, Edith, Genevieve, Lucille, Eva Marie, Amos and Melvin, all of the home.
Morel was unusually bright and industrious boy and the Johnston family was much attached to him. He was a faithful attendant at Sunday school and took a great interest in reading the Bible.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 from the Konantz mortuary. Interment will be made in the Clarksburg cemetery.
Morel Dickerson Funeral
Held from Konantz Mortuary Yesterday Afternoon
Attendance Large – Floral Offering
The funeral of Morel Edwin Dickerson, 15 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lloyd Dickerson of R. F. D., 2, whose death occurred August 31st, was held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 from the Konantz Mortuary.
Rev. Critz, of Topeka, Kansas conducted the regular Advent services. His text was taken from Romans 6:23; "The wages of sin is death," and Revelation 23:4, "And God shall wipe away all tears." He spoke beautifully of the young man's life from childhood up, dwelling upon Morel's interest in spiritual affairs and his love of the Bible. Young Morel had worked on the Johnston farm, where his death occurred, for a number of years, and was well liked by all. He was a regular attendant at Sunday school and as a high school student was very faithful in his studies.
Mrs. Berry accompanied by Mrs. Frank Decker, sang beautifully the songs, "Abide With Me," and "Asleep in Jesus."
The pall bearers were Leo James and Dallas Tucker, boy schoolmates of Morel, Everett Clements, Albert Young and Albert Lumburg.
Interment was made in Clarksburg cemetery in the family lot by the side of his brother who passed away some time ago.
