Mrs. Floyd E. (Maria) Johnson, 73, 316 North First, Herington, Kansas, died Saturday, March 30, 1968 in the Olathe Community Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks.
Maria H. Dickerson was born February 8, 1895 in Texas County, Missouri, the daughter of Edgar Brownell Dickerson and Margaret Sarah (Skelton) Dickerson. She was married to Floyd Elda Johnson on January 1, 1914 at Great Bend, Kansas. Her husband preceded her in death on January 19, 1951. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by six children; Helen Hopkins, Hayes, Kansas, Carl Johnson, Larned, Kansas; Ruth Maloney, of Olathe, Kansas; Robert Johnson, Herington, Kansas; Marlene Jones, Olathe, Kansas and Jay Dee Johnson, Herington; Kansas; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Also surviving are six brothers, Mahlon Dickerson, Larned, Kansas, Lloyd Dickerson, Lincoln, Nebraska; Frank Dickerson, Yuma Arizona; Archie Dickerson, Fort Scott, Kansas; George Dickerson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Bert Dickerson, Homestead, Oregon; four sisters, Mrs. Doris Feenstra, Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Eloise Cummins, Visalia, California; Mrs. Ruth Schneider, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Iris Webster, Visalia, California.
Funeral services were held at the Puryear Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Bruce Blake officiating. Burial was in sunset Hill Cemetery.
