HUTCHINSON - Marguerite "Madge" Blessing LacKamp, 94 died 15 July 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Roxbury, the daughter of Willard and Edith Lilly Blessing. She graduated from Inman High School in 1931. She was a long time resident of Hutchinson and Inman. She and her husband owned and operated City Market in Inman from 1939 to 1956.

She belonged to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Inman, Uvedale Chapter of D.A.R., Good Samaritan, Red Hat Society, and she and her husband were both directors of the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps from 1965 to 1972. She was an avid collector and enjoyed ceramics, macram, needlepoint and crochet.

On May 7, 1939 she married Robert LacKamp, he preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2004.

Survivors include: a son, Dr. Robert J and his wife, Janet Metzinger LacKamp, St. Joseph, Mo.; three sisters, Vernabelle Sperling, Dorothy Clark, Hutchinson and Cleta Friesen, Inman; three grandsons, Mr. Isaac and wife Laura LacKamp, San Diego, Calif., Drs. Aaron and his wife, Paula LacKamp, Kansas City, Mo., Lt. Jonathan LacKamp, Fort Rucker, Ala.; two great-grandchildren Hannah and Nathaniel LacKamp, Kansas City, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Blessing, El Paso, Texas; and a sister, Evelyn Davenport, Inman.

Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Robert L. Albin prsiding. Burial will be in North Inman Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
