They had a long and enduring marriage having celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, October 25, 1961. Their union produced eleven children; Joly, Lily Viola, Josephine Gertrude, Lawrence Edward, Claude Lee, Margaret Irene, William Alfred, Ada Muriel, Charles Ernest, Dudley Wallace, and Mamie Marie Scott.
Mrs. Scott died August 2, 1962 and is interred in Forest Hill Cemetery (midtown) Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.
